Ryan Sears Pre Fleetwood Town

Ryan Sears previews Town's trip to Fleetwood Town.

Shrewsbury Town are back on the road again this weekend as The Shrews take on Fleetwood Town.

Salop will be hoping to earn consecutive wins with a victory over The Cod Army after an impressive 1-0 win over Bristol City.

Ryan Sears is expecting a tough test from the home side but feels Town can get the win.

“Fleetwood is always a tough place to go,” said Ryan. “With them beating us last time at home, the lads want to go there and show a reaction.

“We will be doing everything we can to get the win up there. It’s a great chance to build momentum. The lads are full of confidence after the win against Bristol. The lads are on a high, so going there this weekend this week is great.

“The fans were fantastic against Bristol and we want to give them something to cheer about again. They will be buzzing for Liverpool but we all need to focus on Fleetwood - the fans are always on our side.

“With us being mid-table, there is only five or six points between us and the top end of the table. We will keep going, a win anywhere can be really good for us.”

Ryan is pleased to be back around the first-team and is hoping to gain more minutes in Sam Ricketts’ team after returning from injury.

“It’s great to be back out on the pitch in front of the fans,” said the defender. “Being able to play back at home, it was a great feeling. It felt like another debut really after being out for eight months.

“Minutes are the most important thing for me now. I want to be in and around the squad and hopefully I can get some more minutes. It’s better to be out on the grass rather than in the gym – I was in there for ages!

“Being out for so long did take its toll on me, especially at the half-way point. There have been some great people around me helping me through it.”
