Sam Hart joins Town on loan until the end of the season.
Shrewsbury Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Sam Hart from Blackburn Rovers.
The former Liverpool prospect joins Salop on loan until the end of the season following on from a loan spell with Southend United last year.
The 23-year-old becomes Sam Ricketts’ first signing of the January transfer window and is eligible for Town’s fixture with Fleetwood Town.
“Sam is a young lad who Blackburn signed a few years ago,” said Town’s manager. “He went out on loan to Southend last year.
“He’s a left-sided player who is very athletic, a good size and has a good left foot. He’s young and has a bright future in the game. He is a great lad and is coming into a good group of players.
“He will add quality to that and add to the environment. He’s a good character and the lads will welcome him. With Ryan getting called back, it was important to get someone in quickly.
“We wanted to get someone in quickly and we are delighted to have done so with someone of Sam’s quality. He is eager to improve which is really good. He’s been out and played for Southend last year and did very, very well.”
