Shrewsbury Town in the Community are inviting applications from players to join their U13 – U16 Shadow Squad Age Groups for the 2020/21 Season.
The squads launched last season and compete in the Midland Junior Premier League against other clubs from around the region.
Squads will train once a week for 1.5 hours throughout the season and will have scheduled Full or Half Day training camp sessions during school holidays to increase the contact between players & coaching staff. Our aim for next season, is to delivery 120 Hours’ worth of training per player (Excluding Match days) which will be an increase of more than 50% on the 2019/20 Season. Players will be actively encouraged to participate in grassroots football for a grassroots team to supplement their development.
Players will also be given the opportunity to take part in Residential Training Camps at Aberystwyth University and match day activities at Shrewsbury Town FC.
Small Group Trials in line with up to date Government & FA Guidance will take place Week Commencing Monday 20th July 2020 for two weeks with times and dates to be confirmed. Successful players will then be invited to join up with current squads for pre-season training. All dates subject to continued FA Guidance & Government.
Full preseason training is scheduled to return the week commencing 3rd August 2020.
