Rita Bowers shares her Best Seats in the House experience.
Shrewsbury Town Football Club were delighted to welcome Rita Bowers and Gill Brown to be the latest Salopians to use our Best Seats in the House during our Sky Bet League One fixture with Tranmere Rovers.
Sponsored by Shrewsbury-based Reach Digital Telecoms, Town have installed two Cobra heated seats with two USB ports and drinks holders - situated on the half-way line behind our Sovereign seats.
Despite being a season ticket holder and life-long Salop fan, Rita has been unable to watch Town this season due to time in the hospital to remove a tumour. Town were delighted to welcome Rita back to the Montgomery Waters Meadow and felt she deserved the treat on the Club. Speaking at half-time, Rita said: "The seats are lovely, very nice - the view is good. I've missed all season because I had an operation on my back. I do have a season ticket but I couldn't make the games.
"The seats are doing good, they are nice and warm. My daughter was thrilled to bits that our nomination was successful - she didn't tell me she had nominated me until I'd won it."
Rita's close friend Gill Brown added: "She deserves the treat, very much so. She's had a very bad few years so it's well deserved. It's a brilliant initiative. I used to be a member here so it's nice to come and keep Rita company here tonight."
