Daniel Udoh post Oxford United

8 March 2020

Daniel Udoh reflects on Town's loss to Oxford United.

Shrewsbury Town were unable to secure consecutive wins as Oxford United ran out 2-3 winners over the Shrews yesterday afternoon.

Despite notching two goals past the U’s, 10-man Town were unable to prevent the away side from staging a comeback.

Town striker Daniel Udoh was left frustrated with the result having put his team in the lead in the first-half. He said: “We looked the best we’ve been attacking wise and could have scored more goals. The red card invites pressure and we were unfortunate to concede just before half-time.

“I was delighted with the goal, I told my little brother I was going to score my first goal in Shrewsbury today. The two goals show the quality of our attacking players - we were just unfortunate to get the red card.

“On another day, we go on to win three or four-nil. Hopefully, we can go into the next game and play how we started for the full 90 minutes - I am sure we can go and do that in the next few games.

“We are now looking at next week. St. Andrews will be a nice place to play at - Coventry are doing really well. We will be going there with one aim and that’s to win."
