Ollie Norburn steps up rehabilitation

20 March 2020

Town midfielder Ollie Norburn enters the next phase of injury rehabilitation.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club is pleased to report Ollie Norburn has stepped up his recovery and is now in the second phase of his rehabilitation.

After undergoing a minor knee operation in February, Ollie is now working with the Town medical team to ensure the correct rehabilitation process is followed.

Town Head Physiotherapist Jordan Beech is pleased with the midfielder’s progress and is looking forward to seeing Town’s number eight back out on the grass.

"Ollie spent the first couple of weeks at home,” said Jordan. “Since he's been back in, we have been able to work on his range of movement and we have started to get his quads activated again.

"As people would have seen, he's been doing some work away from the club. The thinking behind that is because he can't drive at the moment. It made sense for us to utilise the services of another physio who is closer to Ollie.

"It is early days but he is progressing well through the rehabilitation process. The surgeon said by week five or six we can start to get him out of the brace. During week four, we were able to get him walking freely which is positive.”

Ollie will now continue to follow a plan set out by the Salop medical team as he works towards full fitness and a return to action.
