Ro-Shaun Williams pre Oxford United

6 March 2020

Ro-Shaun Williams previews Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Oxford United.

Shrewsbury Town next face Oxford United at the Montgomery Waters Meadow in the latest Sky Bet League One fixture.

The Shrews will be looking to make it consecutive wins with a result over the U’s after Sam Ricketts’ men secured all three points against Bristol Rovers.

Town defender Ro-Shaun Williams has enjoyed a full week of training in preparation for a tough test against Karl Robinson’s team and expects that to pay off come match-day.

“The week has been good to be fair,” said Ro-Shaun. “We’ve had a lot of games and it has been tough not being able to train properly.  This week has been good and the Manager has been able to get across his tactical stuff - hopefully that will pay off. Regardless of if it’s Saturday to Tuesday, you want to do the right things. Eating well and sleeping well helps.

“We had a difficult game against Oxford last time away from home. They are a possession-based side but we could have won that game. It will be a tough game on the weekend. They are doing well and are in the play-offs - It will be a good test for us.

“We know we should be higher up in the league and now we are concentrating on each game as it comes. We want to improve every day. We will prepare for this game as we would for any game. We need to do our job and nullify their threats - we will be up for the task. I want to do a job for the team and the Manager - that's what everyone is trying to do.”
