Town Loan Update

16 March 2020

A look at how Town’s players are getting on away from the club.

Ryan Barnett and Ryan Sears both managed to bring smiles to the AFC Telford United faithful this weekend despite tough times for the footballing world as the two Salop Academy graduates managed to get on the score sheet for their side.

The Bucks welcomed Kettering Town to the New Bucks Head for their latest National League North fixture and managed to secure all three points after an enthralling 3-1 victory.

Ryan Sears

On his second debut for the Bucks, Town’s defender managed to pop up with a goal for his team. A diving header from the 21-year-old opened the scores in Telford before Ryan Barnett added to the tally.

Sears was delighted with the win and was pleased to have completed a full 90 minutes of football. “It was great to be back out on the pitch again. To get 90 minutes as well was just what I needed.

“Getting the goal was a great feeling. I saw the ball come back across from the corner and just threw myself towards it. Hopefully I can kick on now and keep getting game time.”

Ryan Barnett

Ryan had a near-perfect afternoon with the Bucks, as the Salop midfielder managed to double the home side’s lead from just inside the box in the first-half. It didn’t stop there for Barnett; an assist for the winning goal came in the 63rd minute, which helped secure the win and the Man of the Match award.
