David Edwards reflects on Town's 3-3 draw with Swindon Town.

Shrewsbury Town earned another point in Sky Bet League One with a 3-3 draw against Swindon Town.

Despite the Shrews netting through Aarron Pierre, Matt Millar and David Edwards, the Shrews couldn't hold on to secure the win

Edwards was disappointed Town couldn't secure all three points and acknowledges Town need to pick up points in the upcoming fixtures.

On the nature of the result:

“We are all disappointed with the result, especially to concede late on like we did. I think as a team we just got a bit anxious and it's natural sometimes to just drop five yards off. As a team, we need to learn to kill teams off and go and get that fourth as we created opportunities to do that.

“Swindon are a good team; they are in a false position in the league and our game plan worked well. We allowed them to have the ball along the back and we didn’t get roped in too high up the pitch.

“We got the third goal from good play. I nicked it and we broke forward. Once we got that third goal, we had chances to get more but naturally we dropped off and I think we did that a bit too early.

“We are scoring goals and we need to start winning games. We have plenty of quality in the team and we should comfortably be mid-table and looking up at this point and I think we aren’t far away from putting a run together."

On Town’s home form so far this season:

“It's fine margins in this league, but we have plenty of quality and we just need to stamp our authority on the game as we did in the first half today.

“We have to be braver on the ball. If we have possession, they can’t hurt us and we needed that today but as the game goes on, your first reaction naturally is drop off as they throw more men forward and that was certainly the case today."

On the positive of getting back to scoring ways as a team:

“It's good to see, we have goals in the team, we have lots of lads who get in the box and create chances. We just need to match that with keeping them out the other end. Notoriously last season we were solid at the back."
