Josh Daniels reflects on Town's loss against Peterborough

Josh Daniels reflects on Town's 5-1 loss against Peterborough United.

Shrewsbury Town were unable to secure any points on the road this weekend as Salop were on the end of a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Peterborough United.

Despite a bright start for Sam Ricketts' men, Peterborough took advantage of a Town red card early in the game to secure all three points with a strong win.

Josh Daniels was disappointed with the result and feels individual errors cost his team in the fixture.

On the result:

"I think we started the first-half well. We were on top for most of the half but we conceded two easy goals. We got back into it but went down to 10-men. We dealt well with them early in the second. We know what they possess and our own errors and mistakes cost us at the end of the day.

"We have players out at the minute and we have so many games as it is. We were tired enough as it is and going down to 10-men didn't help. I think it's a mental thing more than physical at times. They didn't faze us. We came out and started well. We knew it was going to be hard but simple mistakes cost us.

On his first goal:

"It would have been nice to get the three points - that's what I'm looking for. If I had played well and we got the win, that would have been just as good as getting the goal."
