Marc Pugh looks ahead to Town's clash with Swindon Town

Marc Pugh previews Town's Sky Bet League One fixture with Swindon Town.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Swindon Town to the Montgomery Waters Meadow this weekend for a return to Sky Bet League One action.

Town will be looking to secure all three points against the Robins after back-to-back wins in cup competitions.

Town forward Marc Pugh is looking forward to the fixture and hopes to see Town pick up some valuable points against the Robbins.

On the training ground atmosphere:

“The atmosphere is good and all the lads are buying into the gaffer’s philosophy. We have a really great group here. We just need to be more clinical, it's just about getting the ball in the back of the net. You have to be ruthless in both boxes and give it your all.

“The league is the most important thing, anything is possible, you can go on a little run as I did with Bournemouth when we were in league one and look where that took them”.

On the task of facing Swindon:

“I Know a few of the lads there and they have had a change of manager. They like to play passing football like us and we need to make sure we get that early goal. That isn't something we have done in recent games in the league.

On how he prepares before a game:

“I am physically in good shape and I have worked on that during pre-season. Getting my first 90 minutes the other day was key. You have to believe in yourself, have belief in your teammates, and go out onto the field with the confidence you are going to beat your opposition. You always want to try to be the best player on the field at the end of every game.

“I did a nutrition course a few years ago, that has made a massive difference. I take care of what goes into my body and I feel in better shape now than I did when I was 21 because I take care of myself a lot better.

“I feel like I still have five years left in me, I am excited about the future and we will see what that brings.”
