Sam Ricketts previews Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Swindon Town.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Swindon Town to the Montgomery Waters Meadow this weekend for a return to Sky Bet League One action.

Town will be looking to secure all three points against the Robins after back-to-back wins in cup competitions.

Sam Ricketts is been pleased with recent performances and hopes to see a continuation in the upcoming league fixtures.

On squad confidence:

“We have to maintain this form and take all the positives into the upcoming games. Generally, there have been a lot of positives this season but we haven’t got the results.

“It has been nice to get the recent wins that our performances have deserved. We are on the right lines and we are using the right method so it’s important that we do get those wins to reinforce everything.

“The confidence boost doesn’t do us any harm. As a manager, you want good performances but performances that lead to wins. We want to maintain our recent performance level.

“The cup game was an opportunity for some of the squad to impress and they certainly did. We would have been very surprised if teams didn’t rest players due to the number of fixtures we have.”

On the challenge of Swindon:

“I’m not too sure where they are up to with appointing a manager. The chances are that they’ll have someone in by the weekend. Their players will be keen to impress.

“They gained promotion last year playing a possession-based game. We need to take care of their main threats. They are a side that is capable of achieving good results.

“We have to concentrate on ourselves. We need to make sure we perform. We’ve scored six goals in the last few games, which is encouraging so we have to maintain that. We need to understand why certain things work and try to do that on a regular basis.

“Josh Daniels had a kick on his foot in the last game so he’s sore and hobbling this morning. We will treat that as much as we can and get him ready.”
