Getting to know Jan Zamburek

5 October 2020

Get to know new Town midfielder Jan Zamburek.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club were delighted to welcome Jan Zamburek to the club earlier today as he joined the Shrews from Brentford.

The 20-year-old joined Salop from the Sky Bet Championship outfit on a season-long loan deal.

The Czech-Republic youth international is pleased to have joined the club and is looking forward to getting started with the squad.

On joining the club:

“I am very happy to have joined Shrewsbury on loan. Hopefully I can help Shrewsbury whilst they help me develop. My first impressions are the place is very nice. The training ground and the stadium are very nice.

“I spoke with the gaffer and I was pleased because he was very interested in me. He likes my style of playing football so I am happy that I have joined. I am still a young player so I hope can get as many minutes as possible.

“I will help Shrewsbury as much as I can. I need to get that men’s experience. I’m very pleased I can get that here. My main aim is to help the team. I am a possession-based midfielder and like to play good football.

“The fans can expect a technical player, rather than a big strong guy. Every time I play, I like to give my all. I will fight for the team and try to play good football.

“I was pleased with how much Shrewsbury were interested in me. I spoke to the gaffer about the style and how the team wants to play. That style is very close to Brentford’s style. I am very happy to have joined.”
