Ollie Norburn previews Town’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Bristol Rovers.
Shrewsbury Town are back at home for a midweek clash with Bristol Rovers in their latest Sky Bet League One fixture this evening.
Salop will be looking to make it back-to-back wins following on from victory away from home against AFC Wimbledon last time out.
Ollie Norburn is looking forward to the fixture against his former team and is hoping his team can build on previous performances:
On that winning feeling:
“It’s obviously nice to get the three points. I think our performance was nowhere near what we expect of ourselves but coming back from somewhere, when you haven’t been at your best, and still taking three points has got to be a positive.
“There have been many times since I’ve been here that we’ve gone away and played good football but haven’t come away with anything to show for it. It’s just winning that matters and it’s nice to get those three points on the board.”
Preparations for the midweek fixture:
“I think recovery is very important, straight after the weekend game. We are aware that we now have a lot of games coming in quick succession.
"It’s more or less Saturday, Tuesday until January so as a squad we’ve got be ready. There are still players coming back from injury but we have got to remain focused on recovering physically and mentally before the games.
“Going by what I’ve seen, I think they’ve switched it up under the new manager and have started to play more passing football. I think it’s more about us really. We have to make sure that we improve the performance from Saturday and put on a good game against them.
"I think we have to be aware that they can pop up with goals from anywhere, that’s just the basics of football really. We are in for a good game on Tuesday, I think every game in League One this season will be a good game so I am looking forward to it.
