Ro-Shaun Williams previews Peterborough United

30 October 2020

Ro-Shaun Williams gives his thoughts ahead of Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Peterborough United.

Shrewsbury Town are on the road again this weekend as Salop take on Peterborough United at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Salop will be looking for all three points against Posh after a narrow defeat at the hands of Fleetwood Town in midweek.

Town defender, Ro-Shaun Williams is looking forward to the test and hopes his team can secure all three points on the road.

On the preparation for the intense schedule:

“It’s a lot different, and harder compared to last season. You don’t get a full week’s training and everyone is more tired but we all try and prepare like it’s a normal season really. We’ve just got to keep going and get ready for the next game because they come around thick and fast.

“In football, there’s always a new game, which is a new opportunity to play and do well. For me personally, my mental preparation is how well can I play in the next game and it’s an opportunity to improve from the last.”

On playing with no fans:

“It’s been strange for me and the team, especially when we played at bigger grounds like Middlesbrough in the cup. It’s an eerie feeling- it’s not great.

“We want to get fans back in as soon as we can. It’s better for them, for us, and all the clubs involved but we want to make sure it’s safely done because that’s the priority.”

On Peterborough:

“They’re a strong League One side. From what I know they are always around the play-off places come the end of the season. They’ve started the season well but whoever we play at the moment, we need a win more than anything so hopefully that’s what we can return with on Saturday.”
