Sam Ricketts previews Peterborough United

Sam Ricketts previews Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Peterborough United.

Shrewsbury Town are back on the road again this weekend for the second time as Salop take on Peterborough United.

Town will take on high-flying Posh at the London Road Stadium as Sam Ricketts’ men look to secure three points away from home.

Town’s Manager is expecting a tough test from Posh and hopes the Shrews can build on recent positive performances against Darren Ferguson's men.

On the fixture:

“They are one of the sides who were really fancied this year and are a lot of people's favourites to win the league. They have some really good individuals. I like playing against the bigger teams.

“We will recover from the other night and get ready. We will have to see who is available. We will go to Peterborough and try to get the result that some of our performances have deserved.

“There are some defensive areas where we feel we can exploit them. When they have possession, we need to be switched on and defend very well. They singed Clarke-Harris for good money from Bristol Rovers in the summer. He’s found his feet and is scoring goals regularly. He’s someone we need to be aware of.”

On squad availability:

“Deyan is out for a number of weeks with a muscle injury. Jason Cummings is still ill. Leon Clarke is unfortunately injured, he had an issue going into the game and that is why he couldn’t start. Shaun Whalley is still going to be out for some time.

“We are missing a huge amount of players. Each game, it’s a case of seeing who is available and planning around that. It’s really frustrating because we work so hard on how we want to play.

“We haven’t had the points that our performances have deserved. Missing your main forward players makes your task even harder. There isn’t anything we can do about it so we just have to deal with it. This is the run that we’re in at the minute. We’re not having much luck on or off the field.”
