Sam Ricketts previews Rochdale

Sam Ricketts previews Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Rochdale.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Rochdale to Montgomery Waters Meadow this weekend for another Sky Bet League One fixture.

Town will be looking to bounce back from defeat with the visit of the Dale after a narrow loss against Bristol Rovers last time out.

Town’s Manager, Sam Ricketts, is looking forward to the test and previews what we can expect from the visitors.

On the schedule and Rochdale fixture:

“It pretty much going to be games without much training now. We are used to playing two or three games a week but normally it’s only over a two-week period.

“This schedule is one that no one at this level has really experienced. It’s going to be difficult. Right now, we are ok. The longer this goes on, the higher toll it will take on everyone physically and mentally - it’s going to be the norm for this season.

“Rochdale are very similar to last year. They really try to play an open game of football. They are a team that likes to dominate possession so it will be a good footballing game.

“We want to replicate the level of performance from Tuesday. We could have scored three or four quite easily. We have to maintain the good bits and try to build on them. Sometimes you need a little bit of luck. “

On Scott Golbourne and injury news:

“We are just waiting on some results from Scott’s scans. He went to hospital straight away so it’s not looking great. We will look at the other lads in training today and evaluate if they are available.”
