Sam Ricketts previews Town's Sky Bet League One fixture with Plymouth Argyle.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club are back on the road this weekend as Sam Ricketts’ men take on Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.

Town will be looking secure the first win of the Sky Bet League One season following on from Salop’s victory in the EFL Trophy earlier in the week.

Ricketts is expecting a tough test from Argyle who currently sit in sixth place with four points on the board.

On the fixture:

“Plymouth are a good side. They came up last season and have that momentum – the same as Northampton. They really like to play good football and Ryan Lowe has done very well to get back-to-back promotions with Bury and Plymouth.

“Plymouth have certainly earned the right to be in this league so it will be a good game. They pass the ball really well and try to be very proactive in their approach.

“As we start gearing up closer to the game, we will start looking at key individuals. They have some really good players. Ryan took a few players from Bury down there and they are very good players.

“It will be a real good game to watch hopefully. It’s two sides that like to play in a modern way. Hopefully it’s a game that we can come out on top in.”

Squad news:

“Ryan went off to the hospital and had an x-ray and that came back clear. We are waiting now for an MRI scan to see what has happened - we are hoping it's not too bad.

“Brad is struggling at the minute so we will evaluate him right up until kick-off really. The squad are looking good apart from that. We have the injuries I spoke about previously and they are still the same.

“We just need to make sure we regroup, refresh and make sure we are ready to go again on Saturday.”
