Shrewsbury Town sign Shilow Tracey on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Shilow Tracey.

The right-sided winger makes the move to Shropshire on a season-long loan deal at the Montgomery Waters Meadow following on from a season with Macclesfield Town last season.

Tracey is pleased to have joined the Club and is looking forward to getting started with his new team.

On joining Salop:

“I’m very pleased and I can’t wait to get started. Hopefully I can get some game time, learn, improve as a player, and help the team get some wins under our belts.

"My Macclesfield experience was a bit different from under-23’s football. It was more physical, I was in a new environment away from but I enjoyed myself. I think I learned a lot from that experience.”

On his playing style:

“I think I’m quite quick, very strong and I’m good at dribbling. I like to get assists and goals – I like to work hard for the team. The EFL Trophy games I played in for Spurs were good. It was very competitive but I just adapted and got through it.

“I will try my best to get some assists and goals for the team. Shrewsbury is the next step for me in my career – I want to improve my game. I see there are a lot of young players here and Shrewsbury have a record of improving their game.”

Town’s Manager, Sam Ricketts, is pleased to have secured the Spurs Academy prospect and is looking forward to working with the winger. He said: “Shilow is a young lad from Spurs who went out on loan to Macclesfield last year and we have followed him ever since then really. He is very, very quick and can play anywhere across the front three.

“Predominantly, he is a winger but he’s someone with explosive power and he’s someone we are looking forward to working with. Hopefully, he can help us and we can help him develop.”
