Aaron Wilbraham reflects on Town's defeat to Wigan Athletic

Aaron Wilbraham reflects on Town's Sky Bet League One loss against Wigan Athletic.

Shrewsbury Town's fixture with Wigan Athletic ended with the visitors taking all three points back to the DW Stadium.

Despite Ollie Norburn pulling a goal back for Town, the Latics' first-half goals were the difference on the final whistle as the away side left with the win.

Town Assistant Manager Aaron Wilbraham was left frustrated with the result and felt Town need to impact games earlier on during the contests.

On the result:

"We are very disappointed. We were much better in the second-half but we must do that earlier on in games right from the off. We didn't give them an inch and we competed for every ball. We need to start doing that for 90 minutes.

"We found ourselves 2-0 down and we are giving teams head starts. It gives us a mountain to climb and we need to stop that. We are usually resolute and strong from set-piece scenarios and recently we haven't been good enough. We can't become a weak target for those against teams.

"Conceding late on in the first was disappointing. I will have to look back at the goal but it's definitely disappointing for them to go up the other end and score. The mindset has to be stronger and we have to be ruthless in everything we do. If w do that, we won't find ourselves two goals down.

"We had a good chat with the Manager in the dressing room and we need to put these recent results right. We looked stronger in the second and we took the game to Wigan but we need to stop wasting the first-half."
