Aaron Wilbraham previews Town's fixture with Blackpool

22 April 2021

Aaron Wilbraham previews Town's Sky Bet League One away fixture with Blackpool.

Shrewsbury Town are back on the road tomorrow evening for the next Sky Bet League One encounter with Blackpool Football Club.

Salop will be looking for a return to winning ways with the trip to Bloomfield Road despite the home side chasing promotion.

Town Assistant Manager Aaron Wilbraham expects a stern test from Neil Critchley's team but hopes to see the Town team raise the performance levels against the Seasiders.

Update on the Gaffer:

"I've been speaking to him and he's getting stronger all the time. He's still got a lot of instruction to follow from the specialist, he's still having X-rays and CT scans and things like that. They are lowering his medication and things are all heading in the right direction. He's taking more and more positive steps as the days go on.

"He has been raring to come back from day one but there should be some good news to come soon."

On the fixture:

"They went 16 games unbeaten before their loss against Rochdale so they have been doing really well. We managed to get the three points against them at our place earlier in the season. They are a good side and they try to play good football. Their manager has them playing really well so we know it's going to be a tough game away from home.

"Jerry Yates is another good player and you have to be in order to reach the goal tally that he has this season. He looks lively every time you see him play, he was the same when they played at the Meadow. He is someone we have to watch out for.

"We have to take the positives from the second-half the other night and go into this game looking to earn the three points. There has been a mixed bag of performances recently but the lads need to go into games feeling confident.

"There are five games to go now and we need to take each game as they come. We will continue our preparation for each game to make sure we give ourselves the best chance to get the result for Shrewsbury Town."
