David Davis offers his thoughts on Town's 4-1 defeat to Oxford United.
The midfield man made his return to the starting line-up last night and believes the scoreline did not reflect the team’s performance as Salop look to put it right on Saturday against Doncaster Rovers.
On the defeat to Oxford:
“Obviously we are very disappointed with the result. Two goals against the run of play, we got back in the game and then we concede the third and it kind of killed us even though we created chances.
“Personally I don’t think it was four-one scoreline, we started very well. Their injury took the sting out of the game then we conceded two and made it hard for ourselves.
“Then we come out in the second half and had chances and we get one back but then their third one just kills us”.
On getting back to two one:
“I thought we matched them. I thought we pressed them, we looked like we were going to get back into the game, so we are very disappointed for the game to end like it did.
“Harry played well, he scored the goal and could have got another he hit the post but he created a lot for us and worked his socks off”.
On the goals conceded:
“We have kept two clean sheets before this so we are all disappointed with the goals and we have to look to put it right on Saturday”.
On His return to the side and the remaining games:
“I am always happy to contribute but just disappointed with the result so obviously you can play as many game and minutes as you like but I want to get three points and move us up the table.
“We have to try and get as many points as possible we go into every game to try and win it; we have respect for the opposition but we want to win our remaining games.
“We want to try and make our home ground a fortress and that would be a great way to end the season.”
