Ollie Norburn looks ahead to Oxford United

12 April 2021

Ollie Norburn looks ahead to Town's Sky Bet League One fixture against Oxford United.

Shrewsbury Town are back on the road Tuesday evening as they are set to face play-off hopefuls, Oxford United.

Tuesday's game was originally scheduled to take place on the 7th of January but was postponed due to Town's involvement in the Emirates FA Cup. Town are now set to face the U's twice in the space of three weeks.

Town's captain Ollie Norburn is hoping to lead his side to another good result on the road but is expecting another tough test against a strong Oxford side.

On the U's:

"They are up and around the play-offs but I think it's a totally different side we're facing compared to Gillingham on Saturday.

"It's a different type of contest, they are more of a footballing side. We want to spoil the party, we want to go there and win.

"They try and play out from the back. Their build-up play is good. They have Matt Taylor who plays off the shoulder and lots of other good players but so have we. We've done our work and we'll be ready to go.

On hitting 50 points:

"Since the manager has come in it's been a great turnaround. We've come up against things we've never experienced before such as covid and the Gaffer becoming ill. Different obstacles have been chucked at us and we've dealt with it well.

"The main aim when the Gaffer came in was safety because we were in a terrible position in all honesty but we're out of the mess, we're on the better side of it now and looking to push on."
