Ro-Shaun Williams previews Town's fixture with Gillingham

9 April 2021

Ro-Shaun Williams previews Town's Sky Bet League One away fixture with Gillingham.

Steve Cotterill's men next make the 200-mile road trip to take on Gillingham at Priestfield Stadium in Sky Bet League One competition.

Salop will be looking to make it back-to-back wins with the venture to Kent after notching three goals past Plymouth Argyle in the last fixture.

Town defender Ro-Shaun Williams is expecting a stern afternoon against Steve Evan's team but hopes to help Town secure three points and another clean sheet.

On the fixture:

"We have been short of clean sheets this season and it was good to keep one in the last game. There is always a better mood when the team wins. The last result should give all the staff and players confidence going into the next game.

"We are a confident group anyway, even when results don't go our way. We always stick together and work hard for each other. We always aim to get the three points in the next game and that's what we are going to try and do this weekend.

"The coaching staff have gone through a few things with us today in training. I know they are a physical and direct team. Steve Evans will have them pumped up for the game and we have to be prepared for that.

"We need to match their work rate and win first and second balls. We want to play good football and earn three points. We look at their main threats and it's up to our defenders to stop that. My job is to look after their forwards, keep a clean sheet and allow the forwards to do what they do."
