Sam Cosgrove shares his thoughts on making the move to Montgomery Waters Meadow on loan.
Shrewsbury Town Football Club were earlier delighted to confirm the capture of Sam Cosgrove from Sky Bet Championship outfit Birmingham City.
The former Aberdeen striker makes the move to Montgomery Waters Meadow from St. Andrews on a season-long loan.
Sam is pleased to have signed in Shropshire and is looking forward to getting started with his new team in the coming week.
On joining the Club:
"I am over the moon to be here," said the forward. "I was interested the second the potential move came up. I spoke to the manager quite quickly and it was a move I really wanted to get done. I am really impressed with the club and it looks like a real family club. This is definitely a place I can see myself playing football and scoring goals.
"The manager has echoed the things I've been thinking myself. This is the move I needed to push myself forward and improve. I'm at the age now where I need to be playing games. Once this opportunity presented itself, myself and the people around me agreed it was the right move."
On the style of play Salop fans can expect:
"My physicality isn't something I want to be relying on. I like to play with the ball at my feet but there is no hiding from the physicality I can bring to the game. This is the right place for me to develop as a footballer and I am looking forward to it.
"I've heard good things about the fans here and the team has good support. Playing in front of the Shrewsbury Town fans can only be a positive. I just want to help the team as much as I can with my performances and goals - I want to be part of a successful team."
