Steve Cotterill previews Town's Sky Bet League One away fixture with Wigan Athletic.
Shrewsbury Town swiftly return to league action on Wednesday evening as Salop look forward to taking on Wigan Athletic.
Steve Cotterill's men will be feeling confident ahead of the trip to the DW Stadium following Town's progression into the Emirates FA Cup third round over Carlisle United.
Town's manager is looking forward to the tie and hopes to see Town pick up another three points.
On Charlie Wyke:
"We had a similar issue ourselves with Ryan Bowman not so long ago. We're very disappointed to see it happen with Charlie but hopefully he's on the road to recovery. I'm sure he'll be getting well looked after at Wigan. We want him to make a full recovery and want to see him back out on the pitch as Ryan did. From myself and everyone at Shrewsbury Town, we'd like to wish him the very best and a speedy recovery."
On the fixture:
"The Papa John's Trophy won't be anything to look back at as it'll be two different teams. Wigan will be strong and the league table suggests that. They've had a good start to the season. They signed some good players in the summer and have been strong in the market. They're very competitive and have put together a very strong squad.
"Wigan can play both which is a good thing. It's very difficult to sort a team out. If you have one identity, I'm not sure that's the right way. You have to be able to do a little bit of both. They have a very experienced team and good solid players all over the pitch.
"We want to get a few more positive results in the league. The cup will take care of itself whenever that comes along. In the league, we want to try and get more points on the board away from home. We've done very well at home but away from home, it hasn't been lucky for us. I enjoy every game, it's the work before the game that's the hard bit."
