David Edwards joins the 200 Club

21 February 2021

Town midfielder David Edwards hits 200 appearances for Shrewsbury Town.

Salop number four David Edwards is the latest player to join the exclusive 'Salop 200 Club' following his appearance against Accrington Stanley.

The 35-year-old academy graduate made his professional debut in the final match of the 2002–03 season as an 83rd-minute substitute in a home fixture with Scunthorpe United in May 2003. Dave went on to make 139 appearances before making the move to Luton Town in 2007.

During an extensive and successful career, moves followed to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reading - where the midfielder would also become a mainstay in the Welsh National Team.

After 12 years away from Shropshire, Eddo finally made a return to Montgomery Waters Meadow in 2019 and made his second debut for the Club just four days later against Charlton Athletic. To date, Dave has made 61 further appearances for Salop as the Shrews look to end the season in strong form.

"It's a fantastic achievement. He's had an unbelievable career and he's a fantastic person to have around the place. He's been fantastic for the Manager and myself since we came in and he never lets you down."

Assistant Manager: Aaron Wilbraham

All at Shrewsbury Town Football Club would like to congratulate Dave on his incredible achievement!

Congratulations, Dave!
