Ollie Norburn reflects on Town's loss against Crewe Alexandra

3 February 2021

Ollie Norburn gives his thoughts on Town's narrow defeat against Crewe Alexandra.

Shrewsbury Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Crewe Alexandra ended in defeat as the visitors left Montgomery Waters Meadow with all three points.

Owen Dale was the man who found the target for the away side as David Artell's men secured a narrow 1-0 win.

Ollie Norburn was disappointed with the result and feels Town could have done more to react to the Railwaymen goal in the first half:

On the result:

"We started the game really well and their goal came against the run of play. Our reaction after the goal could have been better and we are very frustrated.

"We were prepared going into the game and we knew what they were about. We stopped their threats but we needed a little bit more penetration from ourselves.

"We needed to work the keeper more and follow things in. We need to be ruthless in both boxes - we didn't do that. We won't get too down and we move on."

Going forward into the next fixtures:

"Improvements are happening and you can see that on the pitch. We've had a couple of defeats with Sunderland and Crewe and our performances needed to be better.

"We bounced back against Peterborough and we need to dust ourselves down and do it again. We will stick together and the results will come again.

"Obviously we are missing the Gaffer. He's our leader and we hope he has a speedy recovery. The Gaffer has raised standards and that has shown in results.

"We need to move on and start looking at Swindon. We'll stay positive and hopefully go down there for three points."
