Aaron Wilbraham previews Town's clash with Sunderland AFC

21 January 2021

Aaron Wilbraham previews Town's Sky Bet League One away clash with Sunderland AFC.

Shrewsbury Town are on the road again this weekend as Salop take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the return to league action.

Aaron Wilbraham and the Town squad will be looking to continue their impressive league form against the home side after beating Blackpool in the previous game before an enforced break.

Aaron is expecting another tough fixture with the Black Cats but hopes to see a continuation of confidence and belief going into the tie.

On preparations:

"The lads have looked really good in training and they've all recovered fine. We went for a recovery session with the lads that played whilst working on a few little things - it has been a good morning. The games come in quick succession in this league, we know that.

"It's a quick turn-around but we are used to that. Everyone is just focused on the next game now and looking forward to it. The Gaffer is so good at his attention to detail, so we have stuck to his training methods. That is what the lads are used to and it's what has helped us get results."

On the opposition:

"I had Lee Johnson as my Manager at Bristol City so I know what he's about. His teams like to play good football and they will want to bounce back from defeat - we have to be ready for a tough game. I always think it helps when you know the opposition.

"We always look at individuals from the opposition teams. We do that quite well and we always want to give the lads as much information as we can. We are always well prepared."

Squad news:

"Everyone has recovered well and the lads looked good in training. They're all looking forward to continuing their league form."
