David Edwards previews Town's Sky Bet League One away clash with Sunderland AFC.
Shrewsbury Town are on the road again this weekend as Salop take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the return to league action.
The Town squad will be looking to continue their impressive league form against the home side after beating Blackpool in the previous game before an enforced break.
On the back of making 600 career appearances, David Edwards is looking forward to the fixture and hopes to see Town pick up more points against strong opposition.
On the fixture:
"The long away trips take it out of you and we didn't get back until the early hours but all of the lads seemed fine today. The lads who didn't play against Southampton had a really good session.
"We are getting back into the rhythm of things and we are desperate to pick our league form back up. We've been good in recent games and it's important we continue that - we want to move up the league table.
"We are as good as anyone in the league and the Manager has made us really hard to beat. The combination of that is very exciting and I feel we have match-winners in the team."
"Sunderland are a huge side for League One but there is no reason why we can't go there and get a positive result. It's always difficult playing against a team with a new manager and I know Lee Johnson's team play out from the back.
"We know they are going to start fast being the home team. There will be pressure on them to come and attack us. We have to be ready for that and put our own stamp on the game.
"We are very well drilled now on the formation we play and we always find little ways in preparation for games of ways to hurt the opposition. They have good players and play some good football but we are ready for that."
