David Davis reflects on signing for Salop

16 July 2021

David Davis shares his thoughts on signing a one-year contract at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club were delighted to confirm that David Davis had signed a one-year contract with the Club earlier this week.

After a successful half-season with the Shrews in the last campaign, David has once again made the move from the West Midlands to Shropshire to play for Steve Cotterill's team.

Having made 21 appearances for Town in all competitions in the last six months of the 2020/21 campaign, the 30-year-old experienced midfielder will set his sights on making a further impact on the Salop XI going into the coming season.

David is pleased to have rejoined the Shrews and expressed his delight at signing a one-year contract at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

On signing for the Club:

"I am really pleased to be rejoining the Club," said David. "I had a conversation with the Gaffer at the end of the season and I didn't really want to leave.

"I was happy when the opportunity to sign came. I've been here since day one of pre-season and I am buzzing. I got to know the lads really well and the whole feel of the Club. The Gaffer wasn't here last year and I didn't really get to experience that.

"Working with the Gaffer this season is a big pulling point and I am looking forward to the season ahead. You can see what the Gaffer is building here and that was a big plus for me. I want to get playing and contributing to the team.

"I can bring experience and that tenacity. I want to help the lads as much as I can. I will always try to improve myself in the areas where I can do that. I will always give 110% every game."
