Elliott Bennett shares his thoughts on making a permanent move to Montgomery Waters Meadow.
Shrewsbury Town Football Club were delighted to earlier confirm the arrival of Elliott Bennett who signed for Town on a one-year deal.
The former Premier League and Sky Bet Championship player joined the Club with a wealth of experience having represented Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers in England's top two divisions over the course of 11 years.
The versatile winger/defender is delighted to have made the move to the club of his county and is relishing the opportunity to once again link up with Town Manager Steve Cotterill.
On joining Salop:
"I am absolutely delighted," said Elliott. "As soon as my agent mentioned Shrewsbury Town's interest, I was really keen to speak to the Manager. I am delighted to sign and I am hoping that I can bring something to the team on the pitch.
"I would like to think I will be able to pass on my experience and help the team, I have been around and played a few games. I am really excited to play for this Football Club and I will look to help wherever I can. I will give absolutely everything to the Football Club. I want to make the fans smile. The fans come to the stadium to be entertained. Hopefully I can excite the fans and give them something to smile about.
"I know Aaron Wilbraham from playing with him at Norwich City and Bristol City, and he has always been fantastic in the dressing room. The Gaffer took me on loan to Bristol City and I am delighted to be working with him again - I want to repay the Gaffer's faith in me.
"I have played against Shrewsbury quite a few times now and I always look out for the local clubs' results. Shropshire is where I am from and it's my county. I am delighted to now be a Shrewsbury player."
