25 June 2021

Marko Maroši shares his thoughts on signing a three-year deal at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Shrewsbury Town were delighted to earlier welcome Marko Maroši to the Salopian family as the goalkeeper signed a three-year deal with the Club.

The 27-year-old experienced goalkeeper joined the Club on an undisclosed transfer following on from two years with Coventry City.

The Slovakian-born shot-stopper is delighted to have made the move to Shropshire and is looking forward to getting started with his new team.

On joining Salop:

"I am really pleased," said the 27-year-old. "I'm so excited to be here and I can't wait to get going. There has been talks for maybe a few weeks and I am just glad to finally have it done. I have played quite a few games now, so I can bring experience to the team. The Gaffer knows what type of goalkeeper I am. I want to excite the fans as well. I have a lot of growing to do and still a lot of learning.

"I am really excited to work with Brian Jensen. I was a big fan of his when he was the keeper at Burnley. He was the number one and I used to watch him a lot. I am really excited to be working with him. I can see the Gaffer's vision and passion. For me, it was a no-brainer to work with him.

"The Manager has unbelievable experience and players always improve under him - I am hoping to do the same. I have a lot to learn, and I feel I can grow under this Manager. I want to start the season well and keep as many clean sheets as possible."
