Ryan Bowman shares his thoughts on signing for Salop

18 June 2021

Ryan Bowman shares his thoughts on moving to Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club were earlier delighted to welcome Ryan Bowman to the Club as he joined Town from Exeter City on a two-year deal.

The forward makes the move to Salop having netted 14 goals for his former club in the previous campaign; as well as registering three assists for his team.

The 29-year-old is delighted to have made the move to Shropshire and is looking forward to working with Town  Manager Steve Cotterill.

On joining Salop:

"I am delighted to be here," said Ryan. "It has been in the pipeline for a couple of weeks now. I spoke with the Manager last week and he sold the Club to me really well - I am really looking forward to getting started. The Manager mentioned he hasn't just signed me for my record. He's looked at my games and clips, and he knows what I am good at. Straight away, the Manager filled me with confidence. This is a great opportunity and one I couldn't turn down.

"This will be my first proper season in League One. I am relishing the opportunity but I haven't set any targets. I want to score every time I step on that pitch but the team is always the most important thing. Hopefully this season gets us back to normality. Football is nothing without the fans. They give you that boost when you need it - I am looking forward to that."

On his style of play and goal-scoring record.

"I don't expect many of the fans to know too much about me being as though I played in League Two. My goal record is good but I think there is more to my game. I am a physical player, I win my fair share of headers and I can link up play."
