Aaron Wilbraham previews Town's fixture with Northampton Town

Aaron Wilbraham previews Town's Sky Bet League One fixture with Northampton Town.

Shrewsbury Town are back on the road this week as Steve Cotterill's men travel to Sixfields Stadium to take on Northampton Town.

Salop will be looking to bounce back to winning ways with the Sky Bet League One fixture against Jon Brady's men following on from a narrow defeat against Portsmouth.

Town Assistant Manager Aaron Wilbraham is expecting a tough test from the Cobblers but admits the Town squad are confident ahead of every Sky Bet League One fixture.

Update on the Gaffer:

"The Gaffer is getting on well. The nurses told him that she wished all of her patients were like him in wanting to do more. But he's that one in 100 that they want to take it slow and easy. He's doing everything right and he doesn't want any more setbacks.

"He's trying to increase everything as much as he can but he's finding the process slow and frustrating. He knows he needs to follow the guidelines that the specialist has set. He's out walking and getting stronger each day."

On the test of Northampton:

"The lads have had a couple of days rest and it's important to give the lads a bit of downtime. We've had a nice competitive session outside in the heat. We are starting our preparations for the game on Friday. The lads need a break from the tactical things every now and then. Having a couple of days' rest is good for the body and the legs. It helps you get over those knocks bruises from the last game.

"Northampton are a really hard-working team and they work hard for each other. They've picked up some results recently and it's another tough game in League One - as is every game in this league. We have to go there with the same type of attitude as we have done in previous away games.

"Hopefully we get the right result. We always want to bounce back after defeat and that's what we are looking to do away from home. We need to concentrate on what we do best and work hard for each other. We need to play the football that we know we can play."
