Nathanael Ogbeta reflects on Town's draw with Hull City

Nathanael Ogbeta reflects on Town's Sky Bet League One draw with Hull City.

Shrewsbury Town's unbeaten run was extended as Salop secured a point against Sky Bet League One leaders Hull City.

Despite the away side building back into the fixture after Nathanael Ogbeta's goal, Town held on to secure a valuable point at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Nathanael Ogbeta was pleased to have contributed towards the result and feels Town can start another positive run of games after earning a positive point.

On the point against the league leaders:

“I feel like we should have got three points. They are a very good side and they were very hard to break down but I felt like we had more than them. We had more fight and we had more desire. I just feel like we really deserved three points.

“We have the potential to win these games. We can’t be satisfied with a point, even though they are a fantastic side - we just needed to use the momentum that we had. This is a good starting point for us and we just need to build on that going forward.”

On his freekick that was ultimately ruled an own goal:

“I don’t think the keeper will want it so I will definitely take it off his hands. I have been practising after training, a couple of the lads have been giving me a bit of stick saying I can’t take free kicks and you need that.

“Shaun was nice enough to let me have it as he knew it suited a left foot. I just believed in myself and I worked the keeper so it was a good feeling and I almost got my first goal.

“I just need to keep working on the training pitch and get into good areas. I just need to work on my end product and believe in myself. I feel like I’m getting in good positions and I just need to take advantage of that.”

On the progress of the team going forward:

“Where we are in the league doesn’t really reflect how good we are as a team. I just feel like we have been unfortunate, but now we are getting good results, we just need to believe in ourselves and have the belief that we can win these games.

“You have to play what is in front of you. We had everything to beat this team today, as a team we are just building that belief and for us to go out and compete and nearly win the game it gives us, me and the fans confidence that we are going somewhere."
