Shrewsbury Town Football Club is looking to welcome new Host Families to accommodate our young players aged 15-19 years of age.
Initially, we are seeking expressions of interest from families and individuals who would like to host both short and long-term placements.
Ideally, our Host Family homes will be located within close proximity to our Academy Training Ground which is based at the Shrewsbury Sports Village, Sundorne or our Education Centre at Montgomery Waters Meadow, Shrewsbury.
In providing an inclusive and healthy home environment, Hosts are encouraged to include our players in their family life, supporting our young professional athletes in their chosen careers. In preparing our young players to adapt to their new family home life, they are given clear guidelines of our expectations of them.
All adult family members will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, and provide satisfactory references. We will complete a risk assessment on your home premises and advise and support you of any recommendations.
We provide support to our families, with regular visits and twice-yearly inspections from the Head of Safeguarding. We are currently introducing regular Training sessions to our families and group coaching support from other more established host families.
In return, you will receive a nightly or monthly fee, depending on your placement.
