Luke Leahy agrees to join Town on a two-year deal.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club is delighted to confirm Luke Leahy has agreed terms to join the Blue Amber Army this summer on a two-year deal.

The left-back, who can also play as a wing-back, has agreed to make the permanent move to the Montgomery Waters Meadow on a two-year deal with the option for a further year in the Club's favour.

Coventry-born Leahy joins Town having captained Bristol Rovers last season in a campaign that saw the 28-year-old net 10 goals and register five assists from a defensive position. The experienced Sky Bet League One defender is now entering his fifth season in the division having spent five years north of the border with Falkirk.

Town Manager Steve Cotterill is delighted to welcome Luke to Shropshire and is looking forward to working with the versatile defender in the coming season.

"First and foremost, he scores goals and gets assists. He scored 10 goals last season from left-back. He's a great lad and a very fit boy. He has an eye for a goal and his assists are incredible really.

"He is a player I've had my eye on for a while - myself and our scouts have looked at him extensively. We are looking forward to welcoming him to the group of players that we have here."

Welcome to the Club, Luke!
