Dan Udoh reflects on Town's Sky Bet League One home draw with Sunderland

Shrewsbury Town's evening against Lee Johnson's Sunderland ended with the two teams sharing the points.

Despite going down to 10 men during the first half, Town displayed their character to battle back from goal down to ensure at least a point remained in SY2.

Town forward Dan Udoh was pleased Town were able to secure a point and was thrilled to have scored in consecutive games.

On the result:

"I've not seen the goal back but I just remember hitting the ball and seeing it go in. It came from a long throw and we work on them in training. The gaffer keeps me on the edge of the box in case the ball comes out to me. I got my shot off and it worked well today.

"I was buzzing to have scored. The fans played a big part. They sang us through the game, drove us on and the place erupted when we scored. We should have been up before Sunderland scored their goal. The goal came from good quality and we were unlucky to have David sent off. I thought it was a fair tackle.

"This result just shows how much determination and grit this team has. The most important thing from the result is us gaining confidence. It shows we can get these results even with 10 men. Imagine if we'd had had 11 men on the pitch. With our results, we are where we should be but our football is much better than that.

"We want our home to be a tough place to get a result for opposition teams. I think we've done that but we need to improve our away form. You can't beat Tuesday nights under the lights. We as players love playing under the lights with the fans getting behind us."
