Steve Cotterill reflects on Town's Sky Bet League One win over Charlton Athletic

Shrewsbury Town's second consecutive home game came to a conclusion with Salop earning a last-gasp three points.

Scoring his third goal in as many games, Dan Udoh stepped up for Town to find the winner in the 93rd minute.

Town's Manager was delighted with the win and felt Salop deserved all three points at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

On the result:

"I said the result the other day was the biggest result since I've been here, I'm not sure if this one eclipses it. It's been an incredibly difficult week but everybody connected with the football club should be proud of themselves. From our supporters away at Cheltenham and at home again today, they've been at their very best. The players have given them the opportunity to be at their best.

"Dan Udoh scoring three in three, I am delighted for him. I thought, by far, Josh Vela was our best player today. I thought he was absolutely outstanding in everything he did tonight. He won every race, tackle and header; that's without mentioning the passes he made.

"We could have scored goals within the first 15 minutes when we started brightly. I don't think we've had the same sharpness within our game as we did in the other two but the stamina and strength were in their legs. Only now will the lads understand why we did pre-season the way we did it.

"Our team spirit was there for all to see and everyone connected with Shrewsbury Town will go home with a warm feeling in their stomachs. For the goal, Sam Cosgrove made a really important header. If Sam doesn't make that header, Dan doesn't score that goal.

"The players are a credit to themselves, a credit to their families and to me. We have a great set of lads and hopefully this bit of form that we're in can continue. I love winning at home. When you do that in front of your home supporters, it's brilliant. This is a huge confidence boost for us and we have a clear week now leading up to a tricky cup tie."
