Steve Cotterill previews Town's fixture with Charlton Athletic

Steve Cotterill previews Town's Sky Bet League One home fixture with Charlton Athletic.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Charlton Athletic to Montgomery Waters Meadow this weekend for the second of two consecutive home games.

Following on from Town's 1-1 draw with Sunderland last time out, Steve Cotterill's men will be looking to go one better with all three points against the Addicks.

Town's manager expects a tough challenge from the away side but hopes to see another positive performance from his team.

On the fixture:

"Charlton have played a similar formation to us in the last few games and there's been a bit of a change since Johnnie has gone in. It looks like there has been a reaction from the players which can happen sometimes. We've had a look at them in a few games and we'll work off the back of the things we've seen.

"We are playing a very big club at the weekend but it's no different to the other night. We played against a big team the other night as well.

"We're not looking for a hat-trick of red cards this weekend. Elliott's was just reactionary and I would have been more annoyed if he'd dived and made a spectacular save. For me, David's was not a red card. It's a yellow card at most. We have appealed red card David's and we'll probably know later on what the outcome is.

"The injured lads, I don't really have an update on those as they're not close enough to be involved at the weekend. Everyone came through the last game ok, all ten of them. We have a few bumps and bruises but nothing serious."
