Steve Cotterill previews Town's fixture with Cambridge United

Steve Cotterill previews Town's Sky Bet League One home fixture with Cambridge United.

Shrewsbury Town return to Montgomery Waters Meadow this weekend for the latest Sky Bet League One fixture.

Steve Cotterill's men welcome Cambridge United to Shropshire as Salop look to secure all three points at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Town's manager expects a stern from the U's and feels the newly promoted team have enjoyed a positive start to the season.

On the fixture:

"Cambridge have had a very good start to the season and Mark Bonner has done very well there. They look like they have a very honest, hard-working team and they play for each other. They have been good on set-plays, long throws and they play off the big striker very well.

"I am sure they would be delighted with their start this year. They've gained promotion and have started very well as Morecambe did; Cheltenham have done the same. Those three teams have all had good starts to the season.

"They might have had a few draws but they haven't had many defeats. I would swap our defeats for draws. I don't know why they've had that number of draws, it could be numerous things. It can be that they've ended up with a draw when they've deserved a win or when they could have been beaten. When you have a three-game week, you don't get to watch as much as you'd like to."

Squad updates:

"Josh Vela and George Nurse are getting better. With George, we'll know more about him tomorrow and Josh won't be available for the weekend. We knew when Josh did his injury, it was quite a serious one. We have to be patient with that one but he's definitely heading in the right direction. There's been more improvement with him today but that one we have to be very careful of. We don't want him to do any more damage. Everyone else is ok."

"Luke ended up missing the game against Oxford because of a silly booking. I say that to the players on a regular basis, don't get booked for something silly. I think Luke's challenge was a silly one and one he didn't need to get involved in."
