Match Preview | Charlton Athletic

22 April 2022

As the 2021/22 season comes to an end, Shrewsbury Town are on the road for their final away league game of the season on Saturday as they make the trip to southeast London to face Charlton Athletic in Sky Bet League One.

Salop come into this one off the back of their dramatic 3-3 draw at home to Doncaster Rovers on Monday whilst Charlton won 2-0 away to Cambridge United on Tuesday night.

With Town in 17th position and Charlton 13th in the league table, both teams will be playing for pride as they push for the highest possible finish at the end of the season.

Salop are looking to do the league double over Charlton for the first time in their history after a stoppage-time goal by Dan Udoh secured a 1-0 victory at Montgomery Waters Meadow in November. Steve Cotterill’s side are unbeaten in their previous three league meetings with Charlton and last won at their ground back in the League One Play-Offs in 2018.
