Marko Marosi previews tomorrow's game against Ipswich

19 August 2022

Shrewsbury's Slovakian shot-stopper spoke to the press ahead of tomorrow's game with Ipswich Town.

Marko Marosi made 50 appearances for Salop last season and is yet to miss a minute of football so far in 2022/23.

Marosi has kept two clean sheets so far this season but wants more as he described his side's start to the season as 'okay.'

He also discussed how he prepares for games and his relationship with Town's defenders.

On Town's start to the season:

"I think we've started off okay. We kicked off the season with a clean sheet which is a positive away from home. We could've won the Accrington game but unfortunately, we lost that game. We got our first away win at Wycombe which was a really tough game at a difficult place to go to so that was a really good result for us. The last game against Derby got us another clean sheet but I thought we had the better chances in the second half and maybe on another day we could've come out with another win."

On how he prepares for games:

"You've got to be mentally ready for every game. I prepare for every game in the same way because you have to be at it because anyone can beat anyone in this league. I don't think it's easy to call so yeah, for me personally I prepare for every game the same way. I watch clips of the other team but I think the main thing is what you do on the training pitch. How you train is how you play so you have to be at it in training."

On his relationship with Town's defenders:

"It's really important to have good communication at the back. In a way, I'm their eyes and can help them out with things they might not be able to see so communication is very important. We have to be strong and we have to be leaders.

"You have to trust each other if you want to be successful. You have no other choice but we do trust each other and that comes from the training pitch."
