Rekeil Pyke spoke to the press following the 0-0 draw against Derby County on Tuesday at the Mongomery Waters Meadow.
Pyke has now started two games in a row up front, partnering Dan Udoh. He has become a versatile player in Steve Cotterill's team as he played at right wing-back as well as a striker. Pyke also came off the bench in Shrew's first game of the season against Morecambe in the 67th minute.
Pyke talked about the point earned, the performance, team spirit, versatility, and the season ahead.
On the point earned:
"It was a very good point. The lads stuck together and ground out a point well."
On Shrewsbury's performance:
"They put us under pressure at times but we had a good chance at the end there. We could have nicked the game. On another day we will do that, but it wasn't meant to be.
"It would have been good to nick it there, but we are happy with a point against a good side."
On Shrewsbury's recent results:
"It's been a positive week for everyone. I think if we keep working hard we'll hopefully get the win on Saturday."
On Town's team spirit:
"Everyone gets on well together. We have got a great dressing room and the banter was flying through the week. You can see it on the pitch as we stick together and work hard for each other."
On his starts:
"I worked hard in pre-season and I'm delighted to be in the starting line-up."
On his versatility:
"I'm enjoying playing right wing-back and upfront at the minute.
"I have played on the wing before and it is pretty similar. You just have to do the defensive bit, but I am used to it now and enjoying both positions."
On the season ahead:
"We want to keep improving each game and see how far we can go."
On the upcoming Ipswich game:
"We have to turn up on the day and work hard for each other and take our chances."
