Welcome to the 2022/23 Shrewsbury Town matchday programme

5 August 2022

Pocket-sized, 16 more pages, fewer adverts: this is Salop, 2022/23.

We understand the programme is a quintessential part of the matchday experience so we want to do it right.

This season we've reduced the page size to A5 from B5 so it fits in your pocket but to combat the decrease in page size, we've increased the number of pages from 68 to 84 and reduced the number of adverts.

Overall, this means there will be an average of 20 extra pages of content compared to last season, all for the same price of £3 per programme!

The front cover of each programme will depict a historic Shrewsbury Town kit that reminds us of a historical encounter with that day's opposition. For example, tomorrow's programme features the 1950/51 home kit that we wore for our first-ever football league season and inside, you will find an article written by Salop fan, Chris Hudson, talking about that season and references our matches against the original incarnation of Accrington Stanley.

This gives programmes a collectable function and we encourage fans to collect each historical kit Chris looks at over the course of this season.

Additionally, we have introduced a games page to engage the younger members of our Salopian family. Each week, the Salop Squad - along with Lenny the Lion - can play a few different games in the programme. Bring a pen!

In the Accrington programme, you can also hear from our manager, Steve Cotterill, and our captain, Luke Leahy, who have both penned a note to supporters and will continue to do so throughout the season.

Our player feature focuses on the new captain, Luke Leahy, as we discuss his role in the dressing room, how he feels about the season ahead, and reveals something that not many people know about him!

On the quick-fire questions for our opening programme is young starlet, Tom Bloxham, who answered eight questions about Spain, the season ahead, and banter.

Furthermore, we've kept the high-quality printing and the laminated front cover that provides durability and protects the paper pages inside.

A huge thank you to our contributors:
