Match Preview: Morecambe

18 February 2022

Shrewsbury Town start a run of two back-to-back home games on Saturday, as they welcome Morecambe to Montgomery Waters Meadow in Sky Bet League One.

Steve Cotterill’s side host Morecambe before returning to the Meadow on Tuesday night when they welcome Portsmouth to Shropshire. As Storm Eunice decimates the country this weekend, Salop will be looking to cook up a storm of their own in search of a valuable three points which will help lift them up the table.

Salop are currently 18th in the League One table whilst Saturday’s visitors occupy the last relegation place in 21st after struggling for form all season. They’re without a win in their last three since a win 3-2 home win against Wycombe Wanderers.

The Shrimps are adapting to life in the third tier after getting promotion from Sky Bet League Two via the play-offs for the first time in their history and Stephen Robinson’s side are only one point away from safety. If they can get a couple of good results in come the end of the season, they will put themselves in real good stead to stay up come May.
