Shrewsbury Town boss Steve Cotterill spoke to press ahead of tomorrow's match against Sheffield Wednesday.
Salop kick-off 2022 at Montgomery Waters Meadow tomorrow afternoon when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Shropshire.
Shrewsbury come into the fixture off the back of a tight 0-0 draw with Accrington Stanley on Wednesday night and the Owls' last fixture was a tough 5-0 defeat at the hands of Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Cotterill said his side are looking forward to the game and are as prepared as they can be for their third game in a week.
On the fixture:
"It’s the third game in a week, a busy week. We’ve prepared as best we can, and the lads are rested and recuperated. Now the preparation has all been done, we just have to hope we can put in another performance like the ones we have been putting in. Our form – seven points out of nine – has been good, but we know that there is a stern test to come from Sheffield Wednesday and we’ll give them the full respect we give every team.
"We have had to condense our preparation a little bit. Obviously, we’re very limited in what we can do in those two days with the players, so we’ve had to cram a little bit in, but I think it’s been worthwhile and hopefully, that’ll be the case come match time.
"I saw the game the other night, but I won’t take too much notice of that. They’ve got a good set of players, a good manager, and I’m sure they’ll be a bit sore after the other night. We’re also disappointed we didn’t take three points from the Accrington Stanley game when you think about how we started the game and the chances we missed, so we’ll be looking forward to the game.
"They’re a great club with great support, huge support behind them and it’ll be a fantastic game."
