Steve Cotterill has confirmed Luke Leahy will captain his side for the 2022/23 season.
Leahy picked up the Supporters' Player of the Season award for his efforts last season and scored nine goals and bagged seven assists over 50 appearances during the course of the 2021/22 campaign.
Leahy also won the Chris Smith Super Blues award (given to players with great tenacity and drive), the Family Stand Player of the Season award, and the Away Travel Club Player of the Season.
Speaking on his decision, Steve Cotterill said:
"I chose Luke because he has many qualities I look for in a captain. He's experienced, hard-working, committed, honest, has a great understanding of the game and he's a great talker and leader on and off the pitch.
"Whilst a few may have thought it was going to be Luke, it was a difficult decision because he's one of many players we have in the squad who could have been captain this season. Even though they are not wearing the armband, I am looking for them to support Luke and also be leaders in their own right this season."
