Luke Leahy previews tomorrow’s game at home to Lincoln City.
The central-midfielder has played a crucial role in Town’s last two games, netting a brace against Morecambe and running the show alongside Tyrese Fornah at Rotherham.
Leahy discussed the upcoming game, last weekend’s victory away at Rotherham United, and his goalscoring targets for the remainder of the season.
On the game:
“It’ll be a tough game, they’ve been playing some good football but probably haven’t been getting the results their play deserves so they’ll come looking to get three points and they’ll make it difficult for us. We’ve just got to play our best game and we’re at home so we’ve got to attack.
“[Mid-table is] Definitely [achievable], it’s something we’re looking towards and it’s something that would be seen as a success at the end of the season if we do reach it but listen, there are still seven games to go and we’ve got some tough teams to play so we’ve just got to take each game as it comes and see where it gets us.
“Yeah definitely [both sides will be feeling very good about themselves], that’ll make for an exciting football match I suppose. They have got some very good players that can really play football but we have to stop them and concentrate on our game and make sure we’re 100% and hopefully come half five, we’ve got three points. We’ve just got to play our game and we’ve got some very good players and some very good players in form so hopefully, we can do that on Saturday.”
On last weekend’s performance:
“Brilliant. It’s been coming and the result before that as well against Morecambe too but yeah, it was good to see the stuff we’ve been working on coming to fruition and it was a great result last Saturday. We just need to back it up now.”
On his goals:
“I got ten last year so I’m hoping for ten this year. I’m sure I’ll get a chance; I had one last week and missed but those chances will come and we’re creating lots of chances at the moment so hopefully that continues for everyone.”
